VIEW FLAGS
Mindful Muslim Review

What a sweet surprise from a book printed by a mainstream publisher, a book that reflects the beauty, simplicity, and strength of Islam–a love note to Muslim children. So often in books about Muslims, we don’t find mention of Allah ﷻ or a sincere pride in the belief in our Lord. Hijab is often shown as a mark of identity rather than a symbol of our obedience to our Creator. Not so here. In lyrical prose, this book vividly brings to life the everyday moments of a Muslim child, calling attention to how our deen can bring strength in small hardships and beauty to ordinary actions. Islam is shown as a true and integral part of our day, in both thoughts and deeds.

Mindful Muslim Reader recommends this Gold-star book for the home library of every Muslim child, and we hope to see more books like this in the future featuring Muslim characters who understand the centrality of Islam in their lives rather than as a cultural identity.
